The factory sound systems offered by several automakers allow us to listen to the radio and our favorite songs without problems. However, these are only new vehicles, where we have a say in the choice of additional equipment. The group of car stereo products we are discussing is intended for users who buy used cars and whose basic sound system does not meet the buyer’s expectations. There are attempts to replace the factory sound system with devices with attractive prices, although their quality is not always satisfactory. Therefore, it is worth exploring the entire range of products available in the market before making such a purchase.
Hundreds of devices are available for sale, depending on the classification criteria. They differ in format, materials used in production, type of sound desired, as well as many small and seemingly insignificant details, which, however, end up differentiating the product from the others. Sorting the speakers according to the bandwidth processed is the most common division criterion. Here we can distinguish:
Subwoofers: Subsonic speakers for transmitting low frequencies from 20 to 150 Hz.

Woofers: Speakers that produce low tones, for low-frequency transmission from 75 to 3500 Hz
Midrange: Mid-range speakers, for transmitting mid-range frequencies from 300 to 6000 Hz
Tweeters: speakers that produce high-pitched tones, for transmitting frequencies from 1300 to 20,000 Hz, although they can also exceed the limit of the audible frequency of the human ear (20,000 Hz), transferring the sound frequency to 30,000 Hz.
We divide the speakers equally in terms of the number of channels:
Single-way – equipped with a single membrane for the entire band.
Bidirectional – equipped with two separate membranes for high and low sounds.
Three-way – equipped with an additional system for midrange sounds
Four-way – equipped with an additional system called a supertweeter.
The least characteristic classification, but still existing, is made from the point of view of construction.
